Back to Business

Week 21: This week brought a few new changes. The drywall mudding was completed and feels very smooth. The support beams for the stairway bump out were installed, the front door was installed, as was the new furnace, and the aluminum soffits and fascia trim. The furnace still needs the final hookups to the gas line and have the humidifier installed. This week, the house will be primed. We met with Mike on Saturday to finalize the floors (done), the tile (done), the doors and hardware (done), and the stairs (done). We are working with the paint colors and will be deciding on them real soon. So now most all major decisions have been decided upon. We went to the local hardware store which is doing the lighting to put our down payment on the lights and to the tile store to do the same. We also went to the carpet store to start looking at the carpeting for a few places. So, it was a busy house weekend, but a productive one. We are working on the counter tops as well. The siding is in, but we are still waiting for the trim boards, so it looks like we may start later this week or next week for sure. The electrician is still pulling wires, the HVAC subs will be working on the furnace and humidifier. The landscaper starts this week to move some plants and then dig up the drainage system we put in the beginning of last summer. They then will lay the new pipe and hook that back into the system. Ferd came by on Sunday afternoon to check on things and it is now getting to be real exciting that the finishing work is nearly upon us.
