Coming Together

Week 22:This week we finalized the doors and trim work with Mike so that is one more item off the plate. The house was primed with Sherwin Williams Moisture VaporBarrier paint. The electrical to the furnace was installed and the landscapers removed and installed the new drainage system. The hole in the street for the water line has the concrete poured, and now it just needs a top coat of asphalt. ComEd came out and inspected the meter and now we are official. Supposedly they ran a new line that was higher on the pole. Looks the same to me. Lastly, John came out and rough graded the dirt pile from the sidewalks and now we are smooth again. This week, the siding should begin, weather permitting and the tile will be delivered on Wednesday. We ordered the last toilet and received the LED lights for the foyer soffit. Still a lot to go, but things are starting to pickup steam.

Here is 25 gallons of primer for the house.

Sherwin Williams Moisture VaporBarrier primer. It is a coating designed to reduce the loss of moisture through walls and ceilings. It combines a primer and finish in a single, fast drying coat and is specially formulated. It should make the finish coats much easier to do.

The kitchen primed.
The foyer primed.
The upstairs primed.
Master bedroom primed.
The stairway primed.
The water connection now with concrete over the crushed gravel. Next is asphalt.

The garden has been removed. Most of the plants were transplanted next to the shed for the winter.

Here is John doing the rough grading. It also shows the start of the new drainage system.

Here is the 22 degree elbow to connect the pipes. We went with solid pipe rather then perforated this time.

Here is the path of the pipe back to the garden.

This is the connection to the back inlet.
Here is the middle inlet that is on crushed gravel, as is the pipe.
This is a look at the back drain. It is lower than before.

Here is the foreman Raul back filling the pipe.

Here is the removal of the pipe that was heading up to the window well.
Here is the end product after the pipe is back filled.

Here the electrical is hooked up to the new furnace.
